Dave Porter loves the outdoors: the great
untamed wildernesses. Perhaps that love
for the outdoors drew him in part to his current profession as a rough uncut
diamond exporter. Porter, who works with
Red Rock International Guinea, is licensed to export rough uncut diamonds in
two West African countries, Liberia and Guinea, as well as the Democratic
Republic of the Congo.
Based out of Utah, Dave Porter isn’t
spending his time exploring the exotic locales of West Africa. Rather, the savvy businessman loves to hunt,
camp, and fish in his home state, as well as the greater western United States.
Hunting is a big thrill for Dave Porter because he likes the challenge and
skill that the sport requires. As a
former college football player – Porter played at BYU and Southern Utah University
– he knows a thing or two about the challenges of sports. However, hunting introduced him to the great
challenge of athletic patience!
Fishing is another one of Porter’s favorite pastimes. As a family man, Dave Porter has found that
fishing is a great sport he can enjoy with his children. The slow, easy pace of most fishing
expeditions allow plenty of time for quality conversations. Dave
Porter enjoys being able to go fishing with his children because of the
conversations the experience affords.
Lastly, camping is a favorite activity for Dave Porter because it’s a
chance to get away from everything… even if it’s only for a long weekend. As an avid motorcyclist, Dave Porter has been
known to combine the two interests on occasion.
Riding out to a favorite camping spot is one of Dave Porter’s favorite
things to do.
